Spiderman 3

If they subtitled the Spiderman films in stead of just adding a number, this installment would probably be called Spiderman: Poor Mary Jane. It was probably not the intention of the writers or film makers for me to be crossing my fingers ,that when Mary Jane gets captured by the villian (AGAIN!!??) to lure Spiderman into a deadly trap (AGAIN!!??) , and HOPING that this time Spidey just won't make it in time... At least we wouldn't have all weeping. I'm sure the writers are hard at work picking a villian to kidnap Mary Jane for the rumored and inevitable part 4. Lets hope they kill her this time, then maybe part 5 would be worth seeing.
Other than the overabundance of Mary Jane (and the mediocre Kirsten Dunst acting that goes with it), the story of Spiderman 3 is decent, although jam packed with characters and story threads. It feels very choppy and rushed, scened crammed in on top of one another so you don't miss any important story. Yet, because of this, the movie feels too forced on the audience, with less time to just enjoy the action. I like some depth to my super hero action flicks too, but not at the sacrifice of the picture as a whole.
I don't think comic movies have to follow the books page for page (like some comic geeks who just can't fathom why 20-30 years worth of material won't fit in a 2-3 hour movie), but taking Sandman and giving him a sympathetic back story made him seem less interesting than the comic character. Thomas Haden Church, a fantastic actor, does pull off making him convincing despite the cheesy writing for this character. Topher Grace as Eddie Brock is wonderful, until that uber-anticipated moment when he becomes Venom... which leads to the most glaring fault of Spidey 3...
The film is PLAGUED with shoddy action sequences and HORRID CG. The action in the first two films is wonderfully written, boarded and brought to life... Spiderman became REAL to millions of fans. I was cringing during three, how could the special effects and fights be worse than the first film? How could James Franco don that cheesy Goblin Armor without laughing? And its no wonder teaser trailers didn't show much Venom.
HOWEVER, Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker saves the day even if Spiderman cannot. The depth of character and story the writers seemed to be focusing on comes out in Peter, his anguish, fears and insecurity set up some great humor when he becomes infected by the "black suit."
But, should a few good laughs and deep character development be what we are looking for in a comic based summer blockbuster. It's very nice, but can I have back my super hero, please?

I agree with this review, I think Mary Jane should be smoked
I thought Spiderman 3 was Ok. It wasn't great like the first two.
I can only hope they kill her off in the fourth one. I might actually have to replace my favorite movie of all time then. Please replace my profanity. Fuck Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst).
Spider-Man 3 was a good action movie. It had action I cant lie but it was to mushy. I like it because of the black suit spider-man and Harry got killed because of Mary Jane
