Pan's Labyrinth

So when I first heard the name Pan's Labyrinth I had pretty much made up my mind not to see it. A foreign film was just not interesting to me at the particular time. However; I was coerced into seeing it by a couple friends who could not shut up about it. Well now I understand why. Along with the astounding visual effects and the wonderful dialogue, the movie actually had a really good message along with it. Not the kind of underlying brainless theme that currently most movies have migrated toward.
The movie is based during the Spanish civil war. A young girl and her pregnant mother travel to a military base, because the mother is bearing the commanding officer's baby. As the story progresses two battles emerge, the actual battle between the Spanish and the rebels and the battle of the girl to escape the harsh reality of her new life. The fates of the two battles become twisted as one and the girl's lines between what is real and what is imagination become too jaded to tell apart.
If you are a true movie fan I strongly urge you to see this movie. If you don't see it due to the use of subtitles, then I suggest you go back and watch such classics as White Chicks and Bloodrayne.

Hell yeah this is a five-star movie! I agree with you totally about the great message contained in what is also a thoroughly entertaining movie.
DO NOT be put off because it is a foreign film, the acting and imagery are AMAZING!!!
The Krumanshow knows his movies!!!
Allthough, where have you been, this movie is MONTHS old. I mean, relly...
I'm so glad to see that the three of us enjoy making fun of FUCKTARDS like 60sdiva. I hate that [profanity removed] like krumanshow hates Dr. Phil. I relly, relly, relly, relly, relly, relly do!!!!
Pan's labyrinth is perhaps the most imaginative movie of 2007. I am a huge fan of foreign movies that are accompanied with subtitles. Watching a movie with subtitles ties one c [profanity removed] to the film for some reason. No, subtitles are not for everyone, but Pan's Labyrinth is a film that any person with half a brain can appreciate. It is visually stunning, genuinely scary, and most importantly it is thought-provoking as well. To those of you have seen this gem of a movie: did it did not scare the sh#$ out of you when that wicked destoyer of children came to life? I was yelling "don't eat the food, put down the grub!" Excellent film go see it. And yes, this is a 5 star effort.
Great movie.
