Westerns making a comeback?

Being a Western movies fan, I've really looking forward to seeing the remake of 1957's "3:10 To Yuma" starring Russell Crowe and Christian Bale. There seems to be a slight indication that Westerns could be making a comeback. With last year's great gritty Western (Set in Australia) "The Propostition", starring Guy Pearce, "The Assassination of Jesse James" and "3:10 To Yuma" I hope they are making a comeback. "3:10 To Yuma" quite possibly could be the best Western since Clint Eastwood's 1992 classic "Unforgiven".
"3:10 To Yuma" has everything a fan of westerns wants- gunfights, outlaws, chases on horseback and two actors (Crowe & Bale) who shine in this film. I won't say much about what this movie is about other than Bale is down on his luck who needs money and decides to get paid to help deliver a captured outlaw (Crowe) to the 3:10 to Yuma train before Crowe's band of outlaws can attempt to rescue Crowe and kill everyone in their way. Great cameos by Peter Fonda and Luke Wilson ( yeah, that Luke Wilson). Along with "The Propostition", "3:10 To Yuma" hopefully can resurrect the genre. I'm not a big fan of remakes (mostly happens with horror films) but this remake is warranted. The '57 movie is black and white and most movie fans are not even aware of the original. Finally- a remake that is as good as the original, if not better. Obviously, this one is more violent than the '57 version. If you have been waiting for westerns to make a comeback, go see "3:10 To Yuma" and maybe the genre will become more prevalent again.
