No Country for Old Men

No Country for Old Men is more than just your everyday average thriller. The plotline of this movie seems pretty average, your average joe stumbles across some drug money that isn't his and decides to take it, what could go wrong, right? Little did he know that the money belongs to a psychotic killer who will stop at nothing to get it back. The movie can be divided up into two serperate and very unique sections. The first 3/4 of the movie is that action. It is jam packed with intensity. A scene involving one of the confrontations between the hunter and the prey happens at night in a run down hotel. This scene is so suspenseful and intense that I did not even want to breathe as I watched. The best part about this action/thriller section of the movie is that it is so real. The killer actually kills people without saying some cute little quote before hand. The main character is not invincible, as one who watches the movie will discover, and the bullets do not fly about aimlessly. I have said that the main character is not invicible, and as you might guess, this is because he dies. His death is not the end of the movie though, it is just the end of that section. The movie still has much more to get to. The last 1/4 of the movie is where it tries to hammer its point home. The last couple of scenes are involving a side character, the sheriff. There are two long scenes of him discussing his job and his decision to retire. You later find out that these two scenes are his dreams. In them he basically states that he had to retire because of the recent murders he has seen.(All involving the psychotic killer) He says crime has just gotten way to violent in our society. He refers back to a time when the sheriff of the town didnt even have to carry a gun. He jsut cant take it anymore. That is the main point of the movie. That crime has gotten out of control in today's society in America. Overall this was a very good movie. It had a solid storyline with great characters and intense heartpounding scenes and it even threw a solid theme in. If you are preparred to think and want more than just some cheap thrills I would definately recommend this movie.

I have already seen this movie, it was everything you describe. You obviously know how it ends. I never got it, but your point makes sense. This was a very excellent movie.
You really should flag your review for having spoilers in it. My fiance really wants to see this movie and now I don't because I feel like I already have.
Great movie for the thinker. Byfar the best hitman movie I've seen. Acting is amazing and a real life drab desert feel.
Good. Movie. The only thing that didn't make any sense was the ending. Will There Be a sequel To this Great Oscar Movie?
