Clone Wars: How to bridge the gap

After six outstanding live action movies that comprise the Star Wars series, it's hard to imagine an animated version of the story that would hold your attention.
Much has been made of the 5 minute installments on Cartoon Network, that have been released on DVD recently. That series nods to the fact that we know that Anikan will become Darth Vader in the third movie.
However, this animated film "Clone Wars" ignors the dark future in wait for him, in favor of spinning an entertain adventure with several familiar characters.
There are several recognisable voices, and a good enough imitation of the others to fool most families. But the great thing is that the producers now don't have to hire the original actors to continue the story.
This film works well as we see Anikan thrust into the roll of teacher as he not only tries to accomplish his assignment, but also impart some judgement and wisdom to his new student.
Though the film is somewhat predictable, it still will thrill children and families who want another installment of their friends. However, the complex cast and relationships between the characters may leave some younger children in the dust.
Overall, it's not surprising to see the film open and close so quickly, but as another addition to the growing work of Star Wars movies, it should do fine in the after market rentals.
Don't write this one off until you've seen it with your family!

Good review. I wanted to see this film because I loved the live action films, all six of them and I found the ones that were done on cartoon network to be entertaining. I loved how the ones on the cartoon network pushed the story along well enough. I was anticipating this but never found the time to go. I might buy it on dvd just to add to my whole star wars collection.
