This is a well-made horror movie based on a supposedly true story. This movie proves that it doesn't take a lot of gory scenes and jump-out-of-the-dark in-your-face scare tactics to make a good horror movie.
But although it is good horror movie, I would not consider it the best. It lacks originality. There are many similarities in this movie as there are in others of the same genre.

Being from Tennessee myself i found this movie boring and drawn out.
Good actors...More than i could say about the writers. 2 Out 5 Stars On My Scale!
Yeah, I think I can agree with both of you. This movie was a little drawn out, but overall I found it to be quite entertaining. And although not the best, it wasnt the worst.
I have to say this movie have so many inconsistencies that I gave it a C-. The trailer was really all we needed to see because all the good parts were included there. Why would they keep leaving that girl by herself upstairs in that haunted room?
all of my friends told me this movie sucked pretty hard and they were inticipating renting it for a while so i probobly wont see it.
An American Hunting was a physco movie. She was in the air getting slapped, dragged across the floor, and getting pulled up the steps. The steps part was stupid cause her family just stared at her like she can get away. All i can say is that girl got her ass kicked.
