I watched this movie not knowing what to expect. I thereafter watched it over and over again. It's very funny, even more so if you're British and being made in 1975 we can say that they had a better sense of humour back then. Its both clever and funny which makes it a movie you can watch repeatedly and talk about with friends.
I can watch this film so many times and not get bored and considering it was made in the year I was born is a testament to the brilliance of its film making. It did so well to be a sequel to such a brilliant film; it managed to move on and be different. Ripley evolved from the role of independent woman to caring mother. The alien evolved from being a monster to a separate race with a queen. It was more an action movie than a thriller and with a great bunch of cool characters, I would say this is better than the 1st even though they were very different films.
All I can say is that after watching this movie, I went out and stayed in the woods for 3 days with a only a bag of beef jerky, can of beans and half a bottle of water for sustenance. This film was always going to appeal to me because of my love for the wilderness, but after watching it, I felt like a part timer.
I could be rating this movie through my nostalgic lenses, but it was a great movie when I saw this repeatedly at age 12 and it remains a terrific movie now. It has a unique storyline and a brilliant view of the future; it bravely shies away from the dichotomous view of either a utopian or dystopian future and gives a future that we can understand and relate to. It really does take you away into a different world, with characters who are relateable and interesting. I can't see a reason to give this movie any less than 5/5.
Coming from someone who suffers from bipolar, Cooper depicts a sufferer quite accurately, especially the scenes when he was disappointed with Hemmingway and when he was looking for the video tape. On top of keeping it accurate (which provided for a unique protagonist), it also had a fun storyline and kept it lighthearted. I couldn't class this as a romantic comedy or a drama, but as with most unique films, accepting it for what it is makes it a good film.
This movie didn't get a 5 from me; I can't put my finger on exactly why, but after re-watching all of the Nolan trilogy, this was the only one which didn't continue to excite me after the 1st watch. It does touch upon an important topic, picking up from Batman Begins. The League of Shadows allows for these movies to talk about social decay and what could happen if the majority are neglected whilst those on top indulge in corruption and greed. Even though this movie didn't seem to side with the masses like the 1st movie did, it provided great insight into what it would be like if anarchy and rebellion really took shape. Lets hope when this happens in real life, we'll have a Batman for our time.
I consider this movie to be either underrated or rarely spoken about. It is a movie that needs to be watched more than once. It is more than a simple romantic drama; it has an original storyline, which can often have holes poked in it because of the contradictions in it,if it were real life. However, if it is accepted for what it is, it is a clever, charming and cool movie with great acting from the lead men.
I believe that Mama was a great film,Although i fon't believe it was as really scary ir suspensful.Almost like Carrie. But,At the same time,I believe it was satisfying and had great suspense in the ending.I dont really think anyone saw the ending coming, yet,I may be wrong.I never know. But what im really wantinb to see is the sequel.Rumors have been going around about the sequel to Mama.
And if im right, well then it sounds great.
Spoiler Alert to Sequel:

True story about the rise of Steve Jobs of Apple. I do not like Apple but this is a really good movie. It gets slow at times but the story keeps you interested. This guy was a real moron but had a vision of the future that most don't. That's what made him and his company rise to the top. All the roles were well played and the plot was well written. This is a must see for anyone who likes technology as well.
