One of the most action-packed movies I've seen in a while, Machete is sure to keep you hanging. I walked into that movie, expecting a bloody action movie. What I found was more than that.
This movie is definately not for kids, as it includes plenty of f-bombs from every character, Danny Trejo using someone's large intestine as a rope for climbing down a building, brutal stabbing, plenty of blood, and Lindsay Lohan topless for a full scene.
But somehow, despite it's harsh nature, Machete is able to be a good protagonist in many ways. He is kind, caring, and a great father figure. He will do anything to avenge his wife and daughter, and he is a wild, can't-be-tamed kind of a guy.
Bottomline, if you like fast-paced hardcore movies with pure action, then Machete is a must see for you.
I absolutely loved this movie! It as heartwarming and saddening at the same time! It was very funny and very exciting, I fell in love with the characters, and I felt so sad at the tortured past of the toys at Sunnyside daycare. I liked how it imitated a jail bust movie and how it was able to have plot twists, even as a pg movie. It was very well thought out. And, unlike many other pg movies, it made the "almost death but spontaneously saved" scene extremely realistic, I actually believed that they were going to die. I didn't just shrug it off and say "oh there' no way that could happen". Then I felt myself smile and my eyes brighten as the aliens saved the toys from a fiery death.
This movie is not just for kids, people of all ages will enjoy this movie and want to see more and more. I highly recommend it.
Kept me on edge the entire time, and really made me love the characters. It really captured the anxious feelings of a step parent stepping in and trying to take over. I think the music is what really made this movie what it is. You always knew that every time the music quickened then something was going to jump out. Then entire movie was one big build-up for the "shocking conclusion". Which had me captured and absorbed completely in the plot of the movie.
Very well thought out and well imagined, it had the deepest plot since The Matrix. It went overboard with special effects, but it didn't matter with the amount of plot. I really had to think while I was watching it, but the fascinating idea of it kept me perplexed for days after the movie. Bottom line is, if you're going to watch this movie, expect to devote your whole day to it. As it gives you a headache from thinking too much while watching it, and it will keep you thinking for a while even after it ends.
This is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. It kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat throughout the entire thing, and it made me want more and more and more. There wasn't so much blood, profanity, or nudity for the movie to be over the top. And there was so little that the movie was cheesy. There wasn't over the top digital effects, she did all her own stunts. The storyline was great, with a plot twist here and there to season it to perfection. It ended on a major cliffhanger, and I can't wait for the sequel!
