Wife rented this one and it looked like it might be hoaky. But it was intense and well done. There was a lot of action and intensity. The plot was very unique even though the ending was predictable. I was annoyed by the two dorky scientists but the other characters were fine. A few lines were too corny for me but overall I really enjoyed this one. Special effects were good and the acting not too bad. Writing was decent. Their attempt to make some humor during the film failed though. I would like to obtain one of the Jaegers used in the movie!
The movie is about aliens living at the center of the earth who are now ready to take over the surface. I know, it sounds dumb but the plot worked for me.
Not even for one second can you even come close to predicting the next stage of the plot. Although I did know the next line to be spoken a few times. There are so many twists you will get a sore neck! HA! The acting is good, the story is awesome and the movie will keep you interested throughout. I was not expecting much from this one and was pleasantly surprised if not shocked at the depth of the writing that took place to make it. The characters are likable and well thought out.
Four magicians each answer a mysterious summons to an obscure address with secrets inside. A year later, they are the Four Horseman, big time stage illusionists who climax their sold out Las Vegas show with a bank apparently robbed for real.
The world's greatest illusionists - "The Four Horsemen" - pull off a series of daring heists against corrupt business leaders during their performances. The super-team of illusionists shower the stolen profits on their audiences while staying one step ahead of an elite FBI squad in a game of cat-and-mouse.
Starring: Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Mélanie Laurent, Isla Fisher
There are only two characters in this movie. One is Will Smith who plays General Cypher Raige and the other is his real life son who also plays his son in the movie. I didn't like how Will Smith never got off the spaceship bed during the entire movie but the story was interesting enough to keep me watching. Good acting and a decent plot earns this one 3 1/2 starts.
If you don't like this movie you should not be watching Iron Man movies or any super hero movies. Because this is exactly what to expect from an Iron Man flick. This was by far the best of the three. All the roles were played well. Special effects were good. Plot was typical. I was anxious to see this one and it was just what I was expecting and hoping for. Downy plays a vulnerable but arrogant super hero and does it well. The corny parts are what is supposed to be in this type of movie and they were also done well. Great job!
My first thought was “a zombie movie? Really?” Then I figured it starred Brad Pitt so it has to be OK, right? Wrong! Pitt is a lousy actor but many of his movies are fairly good. So I was disappointed to see this flick was a typical lame zombie movie with no real plot or any worthwhile activity of any kind. I kept waiting for the story to begin but it never did. His wife in this film is unattractive, unkempt and boring. The movie never gets going and then it ends. It is a waste even if you get it from Redbox.
Zachary Quinto played Spock and is the only actor in the movie who did a decent job acting. The acting of all the others was terrible. I love sci-fi so this was good for me but they could have done a much better job with the special effects and plot. It was a typical Trek type movie and I am a Trek fan. The special effects were poor for this day and age.
This movie is good from start to end. Full of action, great story line, acting and overall just plain good. It begins with the hero having a rough time at life. Only for it to get worse as it goes. But he falls in love and is living in bliss. That is until his brother kills her. His quest for revenge takes a few plot twists along the way. Just when you think everything is now OK you find out its not. I'm ready for the new release!
2 1/2 stars for this flick. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. But Sly is too old and hard to look at with his aging facelifts. He teams up with a somewhat rookie detective from Washington who makes mistake after mistake. They both are hunting the same killer, the partner of Sly who are both hit men. Hard to root for a murderer but the story seems to work. I recommend it but with reservation.
I would only give this one a 2 1/2 stars but this site doesn't do half stars. I enjoyed this movie and am glad I rented it. It was not at all predictable and had good acting and a decent plot. The characters are likable. Hillary Duff was terrible though. Its about two kids that find a boat in a tree on an island near their home. Only to find there is someone living in it. They think the boat should be theirs for finding it first and negotiate a deal with its resident to get the boat for themselves. The plot thickens as these kids get sucked into doing a lot of favors for the boat guy in order to get the boat for themselves.
