This is a true story about how Jordan Belfort started out on Wall Street and how he rose to the top via his criminal activity and got away with it. The two huge negatives about this film are its length, way too long, and its raunchiness, borderline pornography. But that is what Hollywood does for a living nowadays so I tried to put it aside long enough to enjoy the movie.
Jordan starts out extra righteous as the new kid on the block but gets quickly corrupted as he seeks to get rich. He quickly throws out all of the rules to only focus on himself. This works for a while and he never really ends up paying for his crimes. What made the movie interesting for me was the fact that it is a true story. Otherwise it would be a waste.
The ups and downs of his criminal journey are somewhat crazy. All the while I am hoping for this guy to get locked up for life and it just never happened. If you get offended by nudity in movies you better take a pass on this one. Otherwise it’s not too bad entertainment wise.
What I do find hilarious though is how many Oscars this movie was nominated for. Simply amazing how they glorify such garbage. There were zero areas for award giving in this flick.
The movie, made in the UK, is about an astronaut who is the sole survivor of a space mission sent to install some experimental equipment. It starts out really stupid with some bad acting and really corny and bad humor when the astronauts are playing around and making ridicules comments. It was enough to the point that I almost turned it off. It gave me the feeling of a low budget and poorly acted film.
As it moved along showing Sandra Bullock installing and or repairing her device. Poorly written lines and acting by everyone. The action started when the space debris hit their ship and killed everyone but her and good ol George Clooney. Just about all of their lines through the entire movie were lame and corny.
Overall the movie was entertaining enough to watch all the way through and I was glad I saw it. But I would not recommend it to anyone else to see if there is another movie available to see.
Shocking to me is that this film won 7 academy awards. Is this really what our movie making has come to?
The game is on after President Snow takes advise from the game maker to reenlist past winners for the 75th anniversary game. Of course everyone feels ripped off that they are not able to bask in their glory but the movie takes off right from the beginning. Its not as intense and there is not as much action as the first one but this is definitely a good flick. I actually would have given this one 5 starts if it were not for such a disappointing ending. It was not as interesting to see who lives and who doesn't make it though. We were not really introduced to the characters well enough to really care. This is a good series though. I am really looking forward to the next and final one.
I'm a fan of the Marvel Comic book movies. They are always worthwhile. This one mixes current time and places with the ancient ones.
As Thor reunites with his past he has to make yet more journeys across the solar system to save his girl and the planets. His long estranged brother of course has always had other plans. Thor under his father the kings direction once again has to fight the bad guys. But these guys are more bad than the ones he had to fight before.
The movie is action packed and keeps you interested throughout. Good acting, plot and graphics. I don't like how the characters can take the form of other people. Makes for somewhat of a lame excuse for some of their activities.
The ending has a small twist that I didn't see coming.
True story about the rise of Steve Jobs of Apple. I do not like Apple but this is a really good movie. It gets slow at times but the story keeps you interested. This guy was a real moron but had a vision of the future that most don't. That's what made him and his company rise to the top. All the roles were well played and the plot was well written. This is a must see for anyone who likes technology as well.
