Based reasonably closely to the book of the same title (as much as a movie can). The plot carries us through the young life of an Afghanistan boy who betrays his friend during their obviuosly difficult political times as well as the boys dangerous journey to safety and his return in later years. Very moving and a unpredictable and suspenseful ending. If you don't want to take the time to read, watch the movie.
Salma Hayek, Penelope Cruz, and Steve Zahn (who in my opinion always does an awesome job) come together in an unlikely way to rob banks. Being light hearted, funny at points, and with a little sex appeal this movie has some merit. Plot is very guessable and aside from Steve Zahn the acting is just okay. Salma and Penelope are pretty hot though! Worth a look-see.
Forest Whitaker plays the part of Idi Amin during his regime in Uganda. James McAvoy plays the part of a young doctor from Scotland who gets sucked right into the middle of a political nightmare when accepting a position as Amin's personal physician. Both actors as well as others gave an awesome performance. Some parts were very unsettling because of the brutality but otherwise this was excellent and very worth the time to watch- Glad to live in the U.S.!
