What a sad, heart-wrenching movie. I actually read the book before I saw the movie, and to see it on the screen was just too sad for words to even describe. I was crying and sobbing throughout the movie, especially the end. The little boys in this movie were outstanding :) I wanted to leave the theater because it was too much for me :(
First off, congrats to Ben Affleck for such a great production! Truly a better movie! Although, it definitely wasn't the best. "Argo" was an action-packed film about five (possibly six) individuals who were captured, and need some type of "cover" for them to get out of this violent country. Affleck, also starring in this movie, helps save them by pretending to be a film crew, with a script and everything! Alan Arkin played beautifully, and so did John Goodman.
The fact that this movie was based off of a true story is astounding. I did enjoy it, and so did my mother...she said it was one of the best of 2012, but she too didn't think it was Academy Award worthy. Honestly, I'd give this a 4/5, and I really do wish Les Miserables won Best Picture, but over all, good job, Ben Affleck! :)
This production is probably one of the BEST comedies I have ever seen! My dad, who is an extremely hard critic on movies and hardly ever is impressed with comedies, was laughing hysterically in the cinemas! I, too, enjoyed this film, and it seemed as though the whole audience enjoyed it as much as I did, and more! Emma Stone was beautiful in this movie, and the acting was just perfect.
The portrayal of this "good girl gone bad" by Stone was extraordinary, and she was absolutely perfect for this role! It wouldn't have been the same with a different actress! Amanda Bynes was just unbelievable as this hard-core Christian mean girl, and she had me falling out of my seat in laughter. Every time she said, "You're going to burn in hell!" or "Go to hell!" I just has to let out a laugh. It was indescribable of what was going through my mind at the time of this movie!
The entire script, as well as the idea itself was brilliant. ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! Whoever wrote this script is obviously fantastic at writing...they made this story not just a teen movie, but a movie for all ages, and people to learn and grow from. This kept me on the edge of my seat, and I fell in love with it. My friends and I watch it almost every single time they come over, and it is great fun that we will never get tired of.
Last thing I'm going to say...The Scarlett Letter part of this movie was so intelligent, I couldn't even believe who would come up with such a witty, smart idea! Finally, this film stands as one of the greatest, most amazing comedy ever! 5 stars!
This movie frightened my jaded brother, but it didn't do it for me! I was actually cracking up in the theater, and the people around me were looking at me with frightened faces. I did in fact enjoy it, and it is probably a lot less stupid than the other three movies, but it still failed to really scare me. At times, when that demon girl or whatever it was popped out, it did give me a scare, but that was it. Everything else, including the effortless acting, was terrible.
Paranormal Activity was a failed attempt in my opinion, of a horror movie, and I wish luck to those actors and actresses in getting jobs in future productions. This movie was, as I said before, a bit funny, but it would have been different if it was supposed to be a parody of "ghosts" and "demons".
Lastly, I advise those of you who get frightened easily to go rent it on a digital device, and watch it with a friend, but for those of you who are rarely scared, I'd pass if I were you.
Points for trying? I don't know what I was seeing when I was at the theater. I was watching a movie with my eyes, but the idea didn't transfer to my brain until after I left the theater. My friends were covering their faces with hoodies, and they were screaming in terror...the best part is, they're guys! I didn't understand this movie at all...it was a bit frightening, just the terrible computer generating...if you are stupid enough to go see this...I am sincerely sorry.
I absolutely adored this movie, and I left the theater with a huge smile on my face. This film pleased me, and went way above my expectations. Jennifer Lawrence, Lucas Till, Nicholas Hoult, and many others made this film worth watching. I have always enjoyed superhero movies, as well as the X-Men Series, and this movie made me love them even more! I really want to see the second one when it comes out!
X-Men has reached new heights with this movie, and my hope has been restored. As I was going to sleep, I thought of this movie, and conjured up different ideas! I had dreams for weeks and weeks about mutants, and superheroes. It actually inspired me to write stories on my laptop, and I actually won a writing contest at my school for one of the stories that I created that related to X-Men. What an extraordinary masterpiece of an X-Men film...I will never ever forget this experience!
Lastly, before I wrap this up...the Hellfire Club was exactly how I imagined it when I read the comics! The costumes, computer animation effects, and the overall acting was what made it really come to life on the screen. Everyone around me was satisfied, and my boyfriend specifically loved this film. He said it was one of the best he's ever seen, and he wasn't disappointed at all! PLEASE SEE THIS MOVIE! IT WON'T DISAPPOINT YOU!
Captain America was a phenomenal, well-written movie that had my attention, as well as most of the other girls in the theater! Despite being gorgeous, Chris Evans made this character come to life, and made the comics come alive on a screen. A beautiful production, is all I can say...the second one should be equally as entertaining, hopefully! There are no words to describe my dear love for this film, and I watched it a countless number of times! My friends were actually tired of it after the 20th time I made them watch it with me! Spider-Man, Thor, and even Iron Man don't even match up to the magnitude of this wondrous production! MUST SEE!
OH MY GOD! This post-Zombie Apocalypse movie is absolutely beautiful in every way, shape and form. Nicholas Hoult is a great actor, and he portrayed a zombie in a favorable way. This film made my perspective on true love alter. I realized a lot of things; including that love can happen to anyone, and anytime, at any moment. Hilarious remarks were made once and a while, and the audience, especially the teen girls such as myself, were swooning throughout the entire movie. Warm Bodies displays a different outlook on love, and zombies :) This "Drama" is one of the best love stories I have ever seen. Worth watching!!
What an incredible, wonderfully-done film!!! I absolutely love the Marvel Universe, and every character in it! This movie restored my faith in superhero movies, and led me to believe that things can get better with Marvel. Captain America and Iron Man are my favorite characters, and Chris Evans along with Robert Downey Jr. did extraordinary performances. The Avengers was one of my absolute favorite movies of 2012, and I can't wait until the second one is released! My brother, who is seven years, thoroughly enjoyed this movie, and told me after, "That was my favorite movie! Let's see it again...get me the DVD for my birthday!" My father who is a tough critic also fell in love with this film, and my mother is quite taken with Chris Hemsworth! Loved it, bought it, worth watching!
This movie was a very entertaining, think-about film. I enjoyed seeing it with my best friend, who happens to be a big fan of the series. As I watched, I was captured by Jennifer Lawarence's amazing portrayal of this strong, independent, Katniss Everdeen. My friend said that she thought the books were better, so I took the time to read them AFTER I watched the movie, and I thought they were obviously more descriptive and fun to read, but the movie made it come to life. This movie was bloody, yet satisfying.
