When it comes to comedies, there are some pretty simple subjects you can tackle that are ordinary - but to break out from that mold is tough. Sometimes it goes well, sometimes it does not, but you have to take your shot; you never know until you try. Will Speck and Josh Gordon tackle a tough subject, with ice skating, however they nail it. The casting in this movie mixes some old school and new school characters, but it ends up working out into a comedic gold mine. Jon Heder and Will Ferrell make a great tag team as Jimmy MacElroy and Chazz Michael Michaels, respectively. Some of the interactions that these two veterans have leave the viewers rolling on the floor with laughter. What makes this movie work so well, is the direction that the directors take. They go from "norm" of pairs figure skating being male and female to two males. Overall, very funny movie with lots of laughs, definitely worth it to check this flick out!!

The idea of the college experience movie is not a new. What comes to most people's mind, myself included, is the always classic Animal House. What director Todd Philips has done with Road Trip is revamped the idea and made it more modern. Sometimes movies try to hard to have an all star cast, but this movie works because its up and coming stars - Breckin Meyer, Amy Smart, Tom Green, and the always side-splitingly funny Seann William Scott. The idea is simple. Boy has been dating girl for his entire life, gets drunk, sends her the video of him cheating, and has to race to recover the tape before she sees if. Needless to say, hilarity ensues. Some things may be a little bit over the top, however it is defintiely a very enteratining flick. There is a fine line to be walked between being funny and being gross or offensive. In the unrated version there may be a few more things that some people are uncomfortable with, but overall, the film has some good gags and funny punch lines. This is a modern day classic to say the least and can be enjoyed many times after the original viewing. Definitely worht the journey to go on this Road Trip.
