Didn't know much about this movie. I had heard mixed reviews. The other review on this website that talked about the graphic violence made me want to watch it more. As far as the brief nudity you see half a boob once which doesn't count to me as brief nudity. I agree that it is definitely not meant for children. It's a bit unrealistic with Jamie Foxx being practically unbeatable with a gun. The storyline was pretty good though. There was plenty of action and it wasn't all that funny. The only somewhat funny part is when a murderer gets sniped in front of his kid. Yes I know that many might not find that funny but the context of the situation made it humorous to me. Watch this one if you're more open to gore in your movies otherwise if you have a weak stomach I would skip this. 6/10
Don't believe what the synopsis says about this being "pulse-pounding" because it's far from it. It's not really that exciting like you would think that it would be. When they finally do go into the compound and kill Bin Laden you don't even get to see his face. A very big disappointment to see that they had to ruin the climax of the movie! Jessica Chastain was beyond annoying in this movie. She makes you wish that someone would smack her for being so egotistical! A disappointing film filled with very few thrills and not much action. Skip this because it's not worth the watch. 4/10
This is one of those movies where some will view Lincoln as a hero and a great man while others will view him as a dictator. I would be the latter on this one. Now I am a Northerner born and bred and am not racist by any means but this movie just affirms the facts behind the Civil War. Abraham Lincoln claimed to want peace but he would not yield anything to get it. When the Southern delegates came to him seeking peace he wanted unconditional surrender which would accomplish nothing for the South and would make the Civil War completely meaningless leaving so many Americans (Southern and Northern) dead for nothing. Abraham Lincoln saute to take away certain state rights by means of the Emancipation Proclamation. No longer would states have the right to make their own choices on issues which would give all the power to the federal government. Lincoln acted as if this were a dictatorship and he was the dictator. Lincoln viewed the war as it's my way or the highway which would lead to the death of many more Americans. This sounds very similar to someone else all Americans know well in this modern age (Al Qaeda). Daniel Day-Lewis plays a believable Abraham Lincoln. Tommy Lee Jones on the other hand plays a pompous ass who instead of coming up with a reasonable argument he just name calls making him look incompetent! The only thing good about this movie is its historical significance. The plot through the whole movie is just Lincoln and his cabinet trying to get votes so that the Thirteenth Amendment gets passed. This is not a movie that I would go out of my way to see when there are so many other good films to watch. 3.5/10
Sorry Peter Jackson but this attempt at another movie based on the LOTR was somewhat of a failure. The Hobbit didn't keep you entertained nearly enough when compared to the originals. The characters weren't that great. All the dwarves seem like the same person and only half of them seem to have any lines at all. One thing that was irritating *spoiler alert* is that none of the dwarves died. Atleast we had one of the characters in the fellowship die in the original. This helps to develop the plot and further enthrall you in the story because you are wondering who could be next. This just leaves me thinking that everyone is going to make it and that is a major disappointment because in that situation most likely there would be casualties. If you're a LOTR fan check this out. Even if you're not I guess that it's worth a watch. For those fans though don't expect to see a film that's better than the original trilogy! 5.5/10
This was one of those movies where if you're looking for action throughout the entire film then steer clear of this one. The beginning is pretty suspenseful but after that it turns more into a drama. It's another good performance by Denzel Washington. I liked the role of John Goodman but unfortunately he wasn't in it for long enough. One drawback to it was that the ending was a little predictable. If you like movies about flying or you're just a Denzel fan then watch this one. 6/10
I wish that I could talk to Judd Apatow and tell him to stop putting the same people in all of his movies. They all are just bleeding together because there isn't much new "flavor" in his films. It seems like Leslie Mann only gets work when it's in Judd Apatow movies. She isn't a poor actress but it's time to stop depending on being in your husbands films and moving on with your career. This movie was pretty boring throughout most of it. It left me sitting there wondering why I was watching it. The previews looked like it would be alright but it was less than average. The youngest daughter in the film had zero acting talent. It's sad when you know that someone is the directors or a producers kid because they have no talent and yet they are still in the movie. In this case it was Judd Apatow's kid. Megan Fox is also in this movie. There is another person who has no talent. It's too bad how she keeps getting acting work just because of how she looks. There are actresses that have beauty and talent that are yet unknown, maybe those women should be put in a movie like this to make it a lot better! I would skip this one because it just wasn't that good! 4/10
Don't believe the reviews for this movie. It was not the best Bond yet. I hate when the new one of a movie comes out and you have people saying about how it's the best. Don't say it unless it is! I suppose some people just have horrible taste in movies. Now this movie wasn't horrible or even bad in any way, it was just average. Casino Royale in my opion was better and I was hoping for more. This movie just left me wanting. They made Daniel Craig look old and made it seem like he was out of shape. For the rest of the movie you looked at James Bond as being too frail to be doing this stuff and thus made it harder to enthrall yourself into the movie. Watch if you can see for free but definitely don't pay the price of admission at a movie theater! 5/10
This movie can't be labeled a comedy because it really wasn't funny at all. There wasn't much substance to the plot. Basically three friends rip the brides dress and they spend most of the movie trying to figure out how to fix it before the wedding the next day. The best thing about this movie was seeing Kirsten Dunst and how good she's looking! If you're a woman you may like this but I don't know if I'd pay much to see it. 5/10
Now I know that hardcore fans of any movie trilogy or saga always say that the new one of a movie is the best one (Star Wars is a perfect example) but this is not the case in this situation. I do not consider myself a big Twilight fan. The first one was the best one and the ones that followed were just alright. I went to see this in theaters since it was the last one. I was surprised by how good it was. It starts off pretty slow with them just getting ready for the Voltri. The ending was for lack of a better word, perfect. Most movies like this their ending is pretty horrible and leaves much to be desired but this one did not. It'll surprise many if you haven't heard how it ends already. This is one that you should go see on the big screen. 8/10
I heard great things about this movie. Wow were they wrong! Tyler Perry shouldn't be an actor. He tends to smile at times when he shouldn't making him look like an amateur with no talent. He does not play a believable whatever he plays. He should stay behind the camera because his acting is sub-par! Tyler Perry seems to always feel that the world has to revolve around him. He always has to be the center of attention. I hated all the Madea's. They aren't funny at all and this movie wasn't suspenseful like they said it was. I would skip this one unless you want to see Tyler Perry's bad acting and a movie that isn't worth watching. The ending was unrealistic too with further bad acting by Perry! If you do decide to watch make sure to watch it online for free because there are a lot better movies that you could watch with the $1 from RedBox! 4.5/10
