Weird movie with great parts and simply scenes where you are like, "this is different", very well acted especially the two supporting actresses, Rinko Kikuchi and the spanish speaking actress, i especially loved her story, basically about the lives of three totally different people and their cultures, this is filmed entirely in subtitles, well the majority of the movie, apart from the cate blanchett/brad pitt parts. The movie is set in Japan/Mexico/Morocco and the U.S. The acting was good, i kind of liked it, even though i wouldent say it deserves best movie of the year. Borat/Dreamgirls anyone???
If you liked Traffic you should like this, its well made, heartbreaking and tragic is many senses.....
Even though this pains me to say it, this is an amazing piece of filmaking, with strong performances and well written, listen mel gibson is undeniably the most annoying celebrity of 2006, i could use stonger language, but better not, the acting is good and it has some of the best fighting scenes ever, real fighting, not cgi graphics. I was reluctant to sit through this, it is long, and i thought no subtitles, but the story is so good, and you really feel for the lead actor, Rudy Youngblood, i will say it mel gibson is a great film maker
This movie can only be described as electrifying, if a little long. If like me you love colorful, dazzling musicals, think Chicago, with amazing dance and musical scores, this film pulls you in right away. The acting is excellent, especially Jennifer Hudson who steals scenes with her big voice and her role. I had never seen dreamgirls or chicago on stage, but i feel that the movie version captures a lot more. The movie tended to drag on a little in the last 1/3 of the movie. But for the musical numbers this is a must, if you like your musicals over the top, and looking great.
