This movie was cute, funny and had the whole house laughing. When these two are forced to live together for a mistake and alot of money. It gets even funnier.
It's a keeper. A movie that will be quoted from many of the one liners. We have all been there at some point.
Hollywood rocked! on this one. We will watch it over and over again.
These two have chemistry and are a great comedy act to enjoy. The whole movie including their best friends antic's are worth the watch.
Lets just say that Hugh Grant comes off as an old fart with a bobbing head. And Sarah J. Parker comes off as an old lady with a VERY bad face lift. My husband I both couldnt stop ourselves from cringing at the sight of the woman.
This would have been a cute movie if the couple had been a bit younger and fresher looking.. Sarah J.P. makes you want to look away.. And what happend to her mole? Did they loose it in the face lift?
When the couple get to Wyoming, the story gets a bit better, still you have to look at them too much. But, fortunatley Sam Elliott and Mary Stienbuergen save the day. They come off on screen with more chemistry than the leading man and woman.
Now there is two people I'd like to see (no matter how old) in another movie.
I only rate this at a 2star for the sake of Sam Elliott.
I ask WHY does Hollywood want us to suffer through watching people who are bad actors, and not pleasant to look at?
I have NO desire to ever watch this film again.
I was 3/4 through the movie when I finaly laughed. I was not impressed with Hollywood using Merel Streep in another movie. She's so old and wrinkely and not at all pleasant to look at. So, it took a gag factor of 50+ to get through to the funny part. Which happens to be when her costar Baldwin is naked in on her bed.
His nakedness was revolting.. grotesqu even. It will haunt me forever. But, Steve Martin saved the day by falling off his chair viewing it from the laptop.
Steve Martin plays a normal man. He comes off as a very loveable man in this movie.
The ending was lovely. Again Steve Martin pulls it all together. But, Merel Streep, is not pleasant to view in this light. I have no desire to watch it again.
